* A lot of nice beers for people who like nice beer.
Please, please take a few minutes to read this online article.
It appears that the land which the Coachmakers stands on is required for a road junction to enable access to the proposed new bus station. Don't let this happen. It's an architectural, historical and cultural gem. Now is the time for the next stage.
Please write an Individual letter stating your objections in your own words, and PLEASE keep it polite, this is an official process.
Mail your letters to
Stoke on Trent City Council (Objection to Planning Application)

These will remain unopened until a planning application is prepared. Each individual letter will count as one seperate objection, whereas we have learned that a petition only counts as one. (But please keep on getting people to sign).

The Coachmakers Arms
Welcome to The Coachmakers Arms Website, we hope that the website reflects in part the character and aims of the pub. Our aim at The Coachmakers Arms is to provide convivial sorroundings where conversation and enjoyment of good beer is paramount. You will not find piped music, slot machines or juke boxes but you will find traditional pub games, open fire places and friendly locals. The Coachmakers Arms is a trouble free venue which attracts a wide cross section of the community and is situated just outside the Cultural Quarter, close to the bus station, local events venues; The Victoria Hall and The Regent Theatre, and stocks an ever-changing range of ales including a stout or porter, a mild, traditional cider and the resident Draught Bass at all times.
Whatever your tipple, you can guarantee your pint will be served to you in tip-top condition, and the multi-roomed layout enables you to choose a seat with an ambience to suit your mood. The bar and lounge where regulars tend to congregate and debate, contrast with the games room complete with darts, crib, dominoes and more ancient pub games and the smaller back room where a settee contributes to the relaxed and cosy atmosphere.
Although The Coachmakers Arms is an old-fashioned, proper pub we are not scared to keep up with technology , hence this website but did you know that the The Coachmakers Arms is now fully Wi-Fi enabled? Feel free to bring your laptop and log on to our secure Wi-Fi service and surf T'InterWeb whilst enjoying a pint of your favourite beer.
What The CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2007 says about us
"Rare survivor of a Potteries town pub, retaining its separate room layout. Radiating off the tiled drinking passage, each of the four rooms has its own character. The "Coach" offers its own culture, despite its position just outside the official "Cultural Quarter". It hosts occasional acoustic music and jazz. A mild and stout feature on the expanding array of handpumps. Children are welcome until 7pm. The Good Beer Guide 2007, p.429.
